Blue Tree

Catalina began with the conception of her debut album “Blue Tree” during her university jazz studies at the Basque Country. Since November 2017 she has presented Blue Tree in Spain, Argentina and Berlin with different musicians. In this work we can find original songs and arrangements of standards with a contemporary character. The influences of Soul- and Pop-music and the improvisation contribute giving the album a real modern sound.

Catalina Sophie, singer and leader of the group, with Argentinean roots, formed a quartet with the Uruguayan guitarist Julian Croatto, the Mexican bandoneonist Rafael Velasco and the German double bass player David Hagen. Together they have come together in a musical and ambitious project of Tango Nuevo. Their own compositions, improvisation and arrangements of tangos and milongas are part of their repertoire, perfect for a beautiful and unforgettable evening.
